Our Impact

Did You Know...

Every tin of Natural Approach deodorant purchased helps to support local and indigenous communities within Australia and around the world. So thanks to you, these families and communities enjoy a better quality of life. They include:

Women and their families in North Africa

We use beautiful raw, unrefined shea butter from Deluxe Shea Butter Australia who source it from their sister company Deluxe Shea Butter Ghana Ltd. They are:

  • Certified Organic by Ecocert for EU Organic under the European Regulation,
  • USDA Organic under the National Organic Program and certified Fair Trade by Ecocert under the Fair for Life Program.

The shea butter is produced by women's cooperatives in Gumo-Kumbungu in Tamale, North Africa. In many cases the shea trade is the only source of income for these women and their families.

Remote Coastal Communities in the Solomon Islands

Our coconut oil is sourced from Niulife which is certified organic and fair trade.

"Niulife are a 100% not-for-gloss social enterprise that's serious about erasing poverty and empowering lives in some of the worlds poorest remote coastal communities."

"Everything they do is about people and the lives that they are changing. 100% of the profits from all Niulife products go towards empowering lives, erasing poverty, and bringing hope for local villagers in coastal communities."

Photo from Niulife: Judith works alongside friends and family in her own village of Asimana making virgin coconut oil and now earns a fair wage in a place where there is virtually NO employment.

Remote Indigenous communities in Western Australia

We source Australian Sandalwood (Indigenous deadwood) from Dutjahn Sandalwood Oils (DSO), in Western Australia. The Dutjahn Custodians are 50% stakeholders in the distillery.

Profits from the oil distillation business will generate much needed work and funding to remote Indigenous communities and will allow them to invest in community projects which will generate employment.

Local Beekeepers

Our gorgeous beeswax is sourced from local beekeepers here in Australia who take great pride in and care for their bees. We love supporting and helping their business grow.

Australian Farmers in Queensland

We are proud to support and purchase delicious organic Queensland Vanilla beans from Vanilla Dreams Australia as a botanical in our 'Vanilla Bean' deodorant. They are a wholly owned and operated family farm in the Qld sub-tropics who produce premium quality products.

Local printers in Mildura, Vic

We are thrilled to be able to source our paper labels from a local Mildura printing business - Park Douglas Printing . They are family owned and operated and have been printing on practically anything paper since 1982! They have done an amazing job designing and printing our eco-friendly paper labels.

We strive towards an eco-friendly, zero waste business

Every effort is made to reduce waste:

  • Our deodorants are hand-poured into reusable and recyclable food grade/cosmetic grade, aluminium plate screw top tins. Great to keep all those tiny treasures.
  • We often use recycled boxes to post large orders.
  • Ingredients are purchased in bulk to reduce packing.
  • We aim to reduce single use plastic and recycle it accordingly if it's unavoidable.
  • Packaging materials are repurposed and recycled.
