Well, let me share with you what I have just discovered….
Australian Sandalwood (Santalum Spicatum) has been used by Australian Indigenous people for centuries. Smoke of the sandalwood would be used in sacred rituals and ceremonies to calm the mind and body after being exposed to stress.
It was also used topically to heal cuts and infections, and the juice of the heartwood was ingested for its healing qualities (www.dutjahn.com).
Today, Australian Sandalwood is harvested sustainably in Western Australia and steam distilled for several days to obtain this liquid gold: Australian Sandalwood essential oil.

Australian Sandalwood essential oil really packs on a punch! It has anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, antiseptic and astringent properties, just to name a few…
It’s anti-inflammatory properties have been found to assist with clearing acne, soothing sunburn, and treating insect bites or any other skin wounds. It has also been found to relieve itchiness and inflammation of the skin (World Journal of Pharmaceutical And Medical Research 2018), which is a bonus if you suffer from eczema or dry skin conditions.

I was fascinated to learn this oil can also help prevent pimples, acne and sores from forming due to its antiseptic and antibacterial properties! It does this by causing skin proteins to coagulate, which helps to protect your skin from breakouts and allergies.
Funnily enough, it’s also great for those struggling with oily skin conditions! Who would have thought, right!?
